Q: Who are Performing Arts for Lincoln (PAL)?
A: We are a group of parents and community members who support the establishment and operation of a robust music and performing arts program at Lincoln High School
Q: What type of organization is PAL?
A: PAL is part of the Lincoln High School PTSA, which held its charter meeting on January 9, 2019.
Q: What types of projects is PAL working on?
A: PAL is starting fundraising campaign to support supplemental coaching, field trips and performance opportunities, sheet music, and other equipment and improvements to performing arts.
Q: Aren’t these items that the Seattle School District should be funding?
A: Yes and no. Lincoln has budget for basic instruments and sheet music. A thriving program has greater needs. That is where you come in. PAL’s goal is to raise the additional funds necessary to get the Music Program off to a strong start!
With the support of friends and community members like yourself, the Lincoln High School Music Program can reach its full potential and offer the same opportunities as other comprehensive high schools in the area including Roosevelt and Ballard. Students need exposure to music and the arts to receive a well-rounded education. A strong music program is also a way for students to connect with each other and the communities in which they live.
Q: When does PAL meet?
A: Meetings generally take place on the first Tuesday of the month. Please check the calendar for dates and times.
